Branches 1972

sketchbook1972

In yesterday’s blog Branches, I mentioned that looking up at the tree next to the flat reminded me of work in my sketchbook from Leek School of Art. That was in 1972, luckily my mother had kept the sketchbook and I found it after she died, and here are a couple of images made by my 18 year old self! I see I was no genius but the ideas were no so dissimilar, to flatten out, look at an underlying abstract structure. Ah well, it’s a long time ago; but I have to say I am as in love with art and finding new ways of expression and a wish to develop, as I was 41 years ago.
