Today’s photographs were taken yesterday, a white dull chilly day. I see these as I walk into Tunstall town centre, they are at the end of a street a don’t usually go all the way down, but the great thing about photographing fixed things is that they are there to photograph and you can go back again and again to get different light. These are all within a few yards of each other on a dead end street where The Torch used to be. What am I looking for? The abstract composition created by human intervention and invention; the way nature has begun to change and breakdown the materials; the mystery of what is behind the structure; the interweaving of words shapes textures colours.
There is some manipulation in Adobe Lightroom of the camera angle, increasing the contrast and taking the exposure down about a stop. The top image was cropped as too much sky took away from the composition.
