Hawes Street

My Streets Project reaches Hawes Street in Tunstall. Many people will drive even walk up/down on it and probably not realise it exists, as it links America Street and Summerbank Road. Half way along it has been cut in half so people can’t use it as a ‘rat run’. There is a car park which no one seems to ever use; a small park; a mix of sheltered, Victorian terrace, 70’s social and inbuilt bitty housing. There are two interesting entrances to the ‘backs’ and a tall mock Victorian streetlight which always seems lit as if off the set of Narnia.
