Continuing my Streets Project documenting/photographing all the 120 roads and streets within ½ a mile of where I live, these photographs of Hollywall Lane come from a few months ago. Hollywall Lane begins at the roundabout where Chatterley Road also begins and rises quite steeply towards Goldenhill, one of the highest point in the Potteries. This first part runs through farmland to one side and on the other mainly overlooks an old marl hole (where they used to dig clay). Almost immediately Boathorse Road turns off, this is the old lane which the canal horses took to Kidsgrove while their canal barges went through Harecastle Tunnel. Being a quiet dark lane one of the main features is the constant dumping of rubbish and rubble which blights what could be a quite pleasant lane, the area is regularly cleared up but people are too lazy to go to the official dumps. At the bottom I have included a stitched panoramic image which is best seen if clicked to enlarge it(I would advise you do that to all the images!).
