Yesterday I spent a few very enjoyable hours at ART Stop which takes place in a former sweet shop in Stoke as part of the month long London Road Festival. ART Stop is organised by artist Chris Reader and on Tuesday’s she transforms into Doris (in the blue flowery dress) and runs the space as Doris’s Cafe, offering free tea, cake and art (is there a better combination?). I took some photographs of some of the tea drinkers, read a poem (Singles Night at Asda available by clicking the Gathering Grief link), talked about most things. So here are some of the photographs. It is a while since I did this sort of work, I used to do masses of documentation of events and performances. I hope to go back again in the next couple of weeks. If you are around it is well worth the visit!
