Roundwell Street part 1

Roundwell Street in Tunstall is split into two distinct parts, so this in my Streets Project is split. The split comes where quite unusually the street stops and turns right. It begins at the large roundabout with High Street and Scotia Road, a busy place and there are a few small shops including one of the best oatcake makers in the Potteries. it rises past the old Police Station and lock up, to where it meets America Street, past an old pottery now a dance school and some oddly out of place new houses to The White Hart, an old pub on the corner where Roundwell Street turns right. It’s a visually messy mix of short term shops and long established businesses, illegally parked cars and vans, shop signs. These photographs were taken before Mr Big Deal burnt down and that has changed the landscape around the roundabout quite a bit.
