Frosty morning 1

Frost enhances a landscape, outlining and emphasising. Up to now the autumn and now winter have been in the main mild and damp, hardly any frost, so yesterday when the temperature dropped to -3C when I got up I could see the possibility for some photographs I’d wanted to take. Nearby is a lane (featured in my Streets Project) and disused land that has been left to waste for decades so plants grow to their full potential then die off. This creates, for me, interesting patterns, textures, colours and shapes. The frost wasn’t as heavy as I had hoped in the lane but the open areas had a fine coating and I got something of what I wanted. The sun was low to the horizon and offering interesting angles. More tomorrow.
