Summerbank Road 1

Returning to my Streets Project after a break. I didn’t go far, the end of the my road to get to Summerbank Road, which runs off High Street at an angle and sort of morphs into Hawes Street (see Streets). A straight road about 300 meters long and includes Summerbank School. These first few photographs are from where it meets High Street. It’s a mix of terraces opening onto the pavement and a ‘terrace’ of houses with gardens, the school, a demolished warehouse site, an old church. Lots of roads run off it. It has a lovely name Summerbank which derives from the name of a farm a couple of hundred years ago. I couldn’t take as many as I wished as the school was in and some very small children out playing, so will continue another day.
