Tate Edges 1

This is a new series which I’ve wanted to make for a long time. It goes back to some of the images of frames in Flat Life from 2014. I’ve planned to photograph corners or gaps between frames in an art gallery, with maybe a bit of the painting or sculpture showing, there are some electronic ‘sketches’ below which show my thoughts from a few months ago. When I visited Tate Britain last week I had my pocket Fuji camera with me and began photographing, no one stopped me so I continued and began the series in their main collection of British Art (I was stopped later in Tate Modern photographing the edge of a Rauschenberg, ironic really as he used so many ‘found’ images). My aim, partly, is to explore an abstract composition within reality. They will be colour and I think square format, there will be more to come over the next few days.
