Gloaming Landscapes

On the way home from Sheffield a couple of days ago, I stopped near to Monyash and took a few landscape pictures in the gloaming, the wonderful word which describes that period when the sun has gone, but the night hasn’t arrived, it was just after 10.15pm. When I stopped again after seeing something else I wanted to photograph, the light had gone, the images showed no detail or form. This isn’t Terence Malick’s ‘golden light’, but a period of calm blues and pastel colours.
