HOMe-hOUSE 8 – Dressed Descending a Staircase
HOMe-hOUSE 6 showed me how much I use the stairs during each day, and I was pleased when I moved to 39 that in the last renovation they had opened them up. Originally the staircase would have been blocked in with a door at the foot of the stairs, as other houses still have. But this lightens and extends the living room.
My title for this self-portrait image, Dressed Descending a Staircase, refers to Marcel Duchamp’s art changing painting Nude Descending a Staircase (No.2), which I remember seeing in Philadelphia, I felt that even for the sake of art it was better I was dressed.
I like everything about this image its past/present references and your sense of humour! Liz

I think I remember that painting. I also remember one with a dog with multiple legs? I don’t know if they are related. Are you doing another photography walk soon? Came across one of the photos from a couple of years ago.

Hi Christine, that painting was I think by the Italian Futurist Balla, called Dynamism or something like that. The next Photowalk is on March 10th, between Westport Lake and Middleport Pottery as part of The Photowalk Network, there will be information out soon on the FB site – https://www.facebook.com/photowalknetwork/, hope you both can make it, should be a good day.
