Hello I’m Tim Diggles and  I live in Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent, UK.

I am nowadays ‘time rich’ partly due to various health issues. The plus side is that it has given me time to work on my creative work between operations and getting over them, whether that is taking photographs, writing, drawing, film-making; there is time to think a lot more as well and do my own art rather than organising for others!

Currently (2018) I am working on HOMe-hOUSE a series of 39 photographs/writings/paintings/films reacting to the house I live in, and am in the planning stage for a series of portraits called Scratching The Surface.

In 2017 I worked with Alice Cunningham on her Let By exhibition which was part of Festival Stoke, taking portraits; with The Cultural Sisters and a number of other projects with artists. I also took nearly 500 portraits for The Face of Stoke-on-Trent for Helen Marshall. I completed Tate Edges, Tunstall Edges and Cornish Edges projects, Objects Excussus series, and Museum.

In 2016 I was a part of Fools Rush In an autobiography project in Leigh Clarke’s exhibition at the AirSpace Gallery. I completed Objects Periphery after a major operation and my movement was limited and began Objects Natural when I could get about more, which I completed in 2017.

In 2015 I continued working on my Streets photographic project and began Tim Diggles as… where I am recreating photographs/pictures of influences, likes or interests as well as many photographs in the area of landscapes, trees, doors and gates. I had a solo exhibition of my work at Burslem School of Art in January.

In 2014 I completed two photographic series – Still Life and Flat Life which explored depression and emptiness in a limited environment.

Since the mid 1970′s I have worked across the arts. After working independently in South Wales, I worked for Blackfriars Arts Centre in Boston (Lincs) putting theatre companies on in often remote villages in the Fens, organising exhibitions and running their education programme. I then worked for Stoke & Newcastle Arts Project, and when the Poll Capping dealt a final blow to that, I became Co-ordinator for The Federation of Worker Writers and Community Publishers for 18 years, which included organising writing weekends; bringing groups together nationally and internationally; fund-raising; working with organisations on their business and strategic planning; putting together the magazine and some publications; representing the FWWCP on national and local committees and at events.

I write and to see my publications go to my page on ISSUU which includes a set of short stories called Tea and Blood, a novel, poetry and novella. As well as attending Renegade Writers (not as much as I would like!), I am a member of the Photographers Collective North Staffordshire. I feel it is invaluable to be an active participant in organisations of other artists/writers.

I completed a BA(Hons) in Fine Art at Cardiff College of Art in 1976 having been to Leek School of Art from 1970 for my Foundation Course. I also have a Post Graduate Art Teachers Certificate which I completed in 1983.
